We are John and Sarah Burrows
of
Doune Traditional and Rare Breed Poultry.

Both John’s grandfathers bred poultry commercially in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s whilst Sarah’s parent had a big dairy, arable and poultry farm in the Fylde so she also grew up with hens so it is safe to say they’re in the blood!
Semi-retired, we now enjoy breeding Scots Dumpies, Welsummers, Cream leg bars, several sorts of Wyandotte, Seebrights, Rhode Island Reds and Light Sussex bantams.
John and Chickens When we first moved to Stirling from Cumbria, we decided to go down the route of only breeding from exhibition stock, and this has certainly paid off in the quality of the stock we have available.
We hope you enjoy our website however are always keen to show visitors our happy hens so please do contact us and arrange a visit!
